The Charlotte Lady Eagles are partnering with MAI Soccer to serve in Thailand alongside local churches and missionaries—using soccer as a way to meet people, build relationships, and share God's love.
What the team will do
Ministry in motion
The team plans to run soccer clinics and play matches in partnership with people already serving in Thailand. Each activity creates space to connect naturally—with athletes, children, families, churches, and communities.
The purpose is not a one-time event. Lauren and her teammates will step into ongoing work led by local churches, missionaries, and ministry partners, supporting relationships that continue after the team returns home.

About the ministry partner
Missionary Athletes International
MAI is a nonprofit, interdenominational sports ministry founded in 1983. Through international mission trips, soccer camps, local club teams, and urban ministry, it has worked in more than 40 countries.
MAI also trains athletes, coaches, and churches in sports ministry—helping them learn how to live out their faith on and off the field. According to Lauren's trip letter, MAI is a long-standing member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.

Why this work matters
Presence before programs
A soccer clinic can last an afternoon. A match can last ninety minutes. But the relationships around them can continue much longer.
That is why local partnership matters. The team is not trying to replace the work already happening in Thailand. It is joining it—bringing energy, encouragement, and a shared love of soccer to ministry rooted in the community.
For Lauren, this trip is an opportunity to return to a country that already means something to her and use the game she loves in service to Christ and others.
